Working
Full Time and Planning
Your Wedding

You're engaged,
you're excited. But how in the world can you continue working
full-time and plan the wedding of your dreams? The only way to stay
sane is to stay organized.
Here are some pointers:
-
Break down the tasks and delegate them to your attendants, relatives and friends.
-
Select a wedding date far enough in advance allowing plenty of planning time.
-
Keep your task list accurate to stay in control during your limited time.
-
Make your calls to vendors during lunch, but visit the vendors during the weekend--so you won't feel rushed.
-
Talk to your supervisor about your wedding and how you would appreciate a "heads up" on big projects or required overtime.
-
Ask the Human Resources Department if you can use the Internet during lunch to visit wedding sites and not get fired for it.
-
Secure vacation time as far in advance as possible. You have to coordinate with other employees’ vacation times.
Any shortcuts? Not really; even if you hire a wedding professional, you still have to make all the final decisions. Be prepared to do "double-duty" until the honeymoon. But it’s part of the process--so enjoy it as much as possible.
