Is Your Wedding One Month Away?
By Sally Manglicmot

Whether you had 18 months, six months or less to plan your wedding, most of your activities happen during the last month! Now is the time to get focused, be flexible and stay balanced until you leave for your honeymoon.

1) GET FOCUSED on your task list. Use your time wisely. Now is not the time to purchase a new wedding magazine to start looking at wedding gowns (if you already have one ordered). Focus by reviewing your tasks every day and make adjustments where needed. Most of your decisions will be about quantities, delivery times, payments, and logistics.

2) BE FLEXIBLE when confronted by unforeseen situations. If the flowers you ordered are not available in the color you ordered, simply select another flower which will be just as beautiful. Invite creative options to solve the problem and move on to the next decision.

3) STAY BALANCED. For some reason, weddings invite volatile emotions – from extremely excited, to short-tempered, to exhausted, to overly-energetic. What is meant by staying "balanced"? It means balanced both mentally and physically so you can respond to situations calmly and wisely. Insist that you schedule quiet time for yourself each day. Learn to say "no" gracefully and often if it steals energy from you. Stay away from accepting invitations to extra events (like happy hour, birthday parties, attending a new class) during this time. You already have a full plate; careful not to overload it.
