• Select a wedding date on any day except Saturday for reasonable prices. 
• To obtain price quotes without a premium, tell vendors you are planning a big party instead of a wedding.
• Simplify your wedding by cutting out the formal dinner and offer finger food at your reception--have a great “sendoff” soon afterwards.
• Get creative with flowers by having mini-bouquets spread throughout instead of huge centerpieces; rent the vases instead of purchasing them. 
• Ask your computer literate and creative friend to help create simple yet elegant invitations, programs, table menus, place cards, and a seating chart.
