bling, red hat gifts‘Bling’ is the Thing!
By Nielsine Archibald

In the past wearing too much ‘bling’ during the day was unthinkable. ‘Bling’ and glitter was reserved for nighttime and "dress-up" affairs.  Now daytime wear abounds with sparkle and zing and ladies are gradually taking to the idea of glamour and glitz available in fashion, jewelry, and accessories.

Just ask any Red Hat Society member. These ladies who are mostly age 50 and over, are breaking the stigma of no ‘bling’ during the day. For their chapter events they bring out their best ‘bling’. Day-time fashions for Red Hat ladies and others, are decorated with sequins, rhinestones, and embellishments with sparkly decorations. T-shirts have painted scenes embellished with sequins and jewels, and jeans are decorated with embroidered flowers, sequins, rhinestones and lots of ‘bling’. Jackets abound with embroidery, sequins and jewels. Jewelry is more fun with lavishly colored gems, glitter, and sparkly additions. Pins, earrings, necklaces and bracelets, with combinations of small and large stones, have cut metal, and shiny materials fill the jewelry counters. Accessories with lots of ‘bling’ include rhinestone studded hats, purses enhanced with shiny metal decorations, clasps, handles, and shiny leathers embossed to look like snake skin or resembling patent leather, and scarves embellished with jewels, feathers, sequins, and rhinestones.

Red Hat Society ladies love their ‘bling’ and the old adage "less is more" has gone by the wayside. Even by day more glamour, glitz and ‘bling’ is part of the fashion world.  Whether you are a Red Hat lady, a professional in the world of work, volunteer, mom or grandma, go for it and get your ‘bling’ now!

Along with her daughter Jill, Nielsine Archibald is the owner and operator of RedHatFashions4U.com and Oceana Fashions in Oceanside, CA. For more about Red Hat Fashions,
