When playing golf in Arizona during the dry and hot summer months it can be a very enjoyable experience. Typically there are no crowds or backed up golf courses. A good player, with nobody in front of him or her can scoot around 18 holes in under three hours. Tee off as early as possible and you avoid the hottest part of the day and can be home in plenty of time for lunch. Alternatively you can tee off in the late afternoon and catch a cooler time of day and at a twilight rate green fee it can be well worth the cost. Wear shorts and a white cotton shirt (or some of the new techno fabrics which are incredible cool), always wear a hat for shade and protection, slather on the sunscreen and Always…..drink plenty of water…and then some more. Summer conditions mean the ball is going to roll a lot further. Holes where in the winter months you might be hitting a 5 iron into the green, you will find yourself with an 8 or 9 iron in your hand instead. Even the short hitters can feel like Tiger in June-Sept.
