Select
Your Theme Wedding
By Sally Manglicmot, creator of
Weddings A Breeze 'Wedding Planning and Organizer Kit'.
Country wedding? Beach wedding? Black
tie wedding? It's so fun to select a theme for your wedding.
You will see how easy it is to plan your wedding once you
select your theme. If you don't have one, here's how to
start: consider your passions, whether its sports, creative
arts, hobbies, music--something unique about both of your
personalities.
If you are having a religious wedding, then it is easy to
follow the customs. You can stick to the traditional theme
(perfectly acceptable) or add your personality to it
(without breaking any religious rules). Many of you prefer
not to follow a religious theme. Consider something as
simple as a color theme. Let's say your favorite colors are
lime green and orange. Then use those colors in your
invitations, bridesmaids' dresses, bouquet, centerpieces,
ribbons, tablecloths, and favors (but don’t drown in it).
Mix and match; you can have a religious theme and color
theme.
Wedding themes are endless because every couple represents a
unique set of hobbies and personalities. Here are a couple
of unique ones: golf enthusiast marry on the golf course and
enjoy a beautiful reception at the Country Club. Tennis fans
have decorated the court (you don't even know you're dining
in the server box!). Couples, who met at a sports event,
rent the entire field or arena. Was it a great restaurant
where you fell in love? Rent a private space in the
restaurant for a smaller reception. The key is to find a
theme that reflects who you are as a couple. Once you do,
creative ideas start flowing in your thoughts.
