About Squaw Valley, California
Located thousands of
feet below the Kings Canyon and Sequoia National Parks, and home to
about 2,600 residents, Squaw Valley and Dunlap are small neighboring
communities that are located in Fresno County, in California’s Central
Valley region. Kings Canyon National Park is about an hour drive east,.
and Sequoia National Park is about a 2 hours drive from these quaint
communities located in the rolling oak foothills.
Being located near parks and forests, the outdoor activities are endless
boasting of Mount Whitney - the tallest mountain peak in the continental
US; the General Sherman Tree - the world’s largest tree; the Sequoia
National Forest; the deepest canyon in North America, the ‘Trail of 100
Giants’ and more.
The area is home to about 2,600 residents, Squaw Valley is home to Squaw
Valley Herb Gardens which features hundreds of herbs and a hillside of
lavender in beautiful landscapes. This display garden offers tours,
workshops and retreats. East of Squaw Valley, in the community of
Dunlap, is Cat Haven Wild Animal Park, which is dedicated to the
preservation of wild cats. Visitors will enjoy an hour-long educational
and guided tour and will see a number of cats including tigers, clouded
leopards, caracals, snow leopards and jaguars.

Canyon National Park, Cat Haven is an innovative park dedicated to the
preservation of wild cats. The park also offers guided tours of some of
