About Springville, California
Gateway to the Tule River Redwoods and the Giant Sequoia National Monument, Springville is located at just over 1,000 feet above sea level in the Sierra Nevada foothills, in the southeast portion of Tulare County. This quaint community was originally named ‘Daunt’ after it’s store owner, but was renamed in 1911 to Springville representing the fine drinking water taken from one of the areas many soda springs.

Today Springville’s largest industry is tourism taking full advantage of its best crop – apples, and the surrounding giant Sequoia trees filling the scenic beauty of the region. Today Springville celebrates its apple heritage with an annual Apple Festival in the fall. Other popular Springville events include the Memorial Tree Lighting, community Christmas celebrations, a Spaghetti Dinner and Ham Dinner, the Jackass Mail Run, the Springville Sierra Rodeo, and the Sequoia Foothills Art Show.
