to Palomar Mountain, California
Town/City Overview
Home of the world famous Palomar Observatory
as well as a beautiful mountain situated at an elevation of 5500 feet with
the peak being 6126 above sea level, approximately 70 miles northeast of
San Diego, California. This beautiful area boasts timbered ridges,
evergreen valleys, small streams, creeks and springs. It is a favorite
retreat for those who know about it. Springtime brings beautiful
wildflowers, summer it has a balmy climate with refreshing springs and
forest shade, winter it often has snow falls from 50-60 inches and fall
the drives through the general area are absolutely beautiful. This is an
all year round destination with it's lodges, camping, restaurant, and
general store.

Palomar Observatory-
Highway 76 to County Road S6, Palomar Mountain, CA. Open
