JOSHUA TREE, CA-The 3rd Annual Joshua Tree Music Festival will take place Friday, May 13th, through Sunday, May 15th, at the Joshua Tree Lake Campground at 2601 Sunfair Road, in Joshua Tree, California.  The festival is a family friendly event for music loving souls of all ages.  The festival showcases a diverse array of nationally recognized recording artists from the funk, folk, jazz, bluegrass, americana, jam, and mystic world beat genres as well as local artists from the burgeoning Joshua Tree music scene.  More than 35 artists on two sound stages will perform over the course of the weekend.

 

Children of all ages are welcome and are encouraged to participate in workshops (drum, dance, hoop and poi), star gazing, nature talks, artistic adventures, and the daily parade. A mini EcoVillage, featuring local artisans and organic, healthy foods, can be found in the world market.  Monies will be raised for local non-profit organizations in Joshua Tree.

 

The music begins at 3:00 P.M on Friday, May 13th, and at 9:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 14th and Sunday, May 15th, and runs until after midnight each night. 

 

The line-up so far includes:  ZILLA (featuring members of String Cheese Incident, Vibe Squad & Citizen Cope), VICTORIA WILLIAMS, THE FREQUINOX (featuring members of Galactic), TIM EASTON, THE AFRICAN SHOWBOYZ (from Ghana), PAPA MALI, TAARKASTRA, SPOONSHINE, AUDIO ANGEL & DJ TRUTH, KEN WILL MORTON, MOJOW & THE VIBRATION ARMY, JAMIE JANOVER & FRIENDS, THAMUSEMEANT, APHRODESIA, SPOONFED TRIBE, SHAMANS DREAM WORLD GROOVE ENSEMBLE, TED QUINN, HAMSA LILA, SIGNAL PATH, ALFRED HOWARD & THE K23 ORCHESTRA, and GANGA GIRI.  More artists will be announced.   Check website for updates.
