Halloween Safety Tips

Halloween Parties are certainly an opportunity to get creative. Below are some super scary ideas for tasty treats that look the part.

Halloween ReicpesWormy Apples
Core some apples and place a bit of butter and a teaspoon of jelly in the cavity of each apple. Bake the apples at 350 F for about 35 minutes, until tender but not mushy soft. Cool them, and stick some gummy worms in them....

Snails on a Plate
Take flour tortillas and spread with a mixture of soft cream cheese mixed with a bit of Ketchup to make it pink. Roll the tortilla tightly and cut into slices.  Add small gherkin pickle bodies to each shell with a toothpick and arrange on a plate.

Creepy Spiders
Dip large marshmallows in a chocolate sauce or melted chocolate bar. Cut black licorice strings into pieces for legs and stick into the spider body. Add two small marshmallows to the spider body with eyes by poking smaller licorice string pieces through them.

Hands in Punch
Make your favorite Halloween Fruit Punch. Get a couple of surgical gloves and wash thoroughly inside and out. Fill with water and close the gloves with a rubber band. Freeze the hands until solid. Use a mat knife to slit the rubber gloves and peel all the rubber off. Float the hands in your punch.

Jack O Lantern Surprises
Get the largest oranges you can find and slice off the tops. Scoop out all the contents being careful not to cut through the rind. Carve out a face, keeping as far to the top of the orange as you can. Fill with Chocolate Ice Cream and freeze until ready to serve.

Bug Cubes
Freeze some raisins in ice cubes and use in your punch--looks like floating bugs.

Bloodshot Eyeballs
Peel some hard boiled eggs. Cut each egg in half crosswise. Scoop out the egg yolk and mix with cream cheese. Put the egg mixture back into each egg white. Add a small pimento filled olive to the center of the egg mixture for the pupil. Take a toothpick and dip it into some red food dye to sketch some blood vessels into each egg white for the blood shot look.
