MAY 2008:
May 1-18: Contemporary Navajo Weaving Exhibit:
This special exhibit of contemporary Navajo weavings features exquisite rugs and wearable pieces from the Getzwiller Navajo Churro Collection. Works in the Collection represent exciting developments in contemporary Navajo textiles, including a return to blanket weaving, the reintroduction of Navajo-Churro wool, and experimentation in the use of alpaca, silk, and other materials in Navajo weaving. May 1 – Sept. 8: DeGrazia's "Todos Mexicanos" Exhibition – Tucson, AZ: A new exhibition of sketches by the late Ted DeGrazia includes more than 50 black-and-white drawings of the daily life he witnessed during his frequent trips to Mexico, from merchants, mariachis, and bar scenes to farmers, fishermen and, of course, children. Free to the public, this exhibit will run until Sept. 8th and is held at the DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun, in Tucson, AZ. For details – Click Here.

May 15: Spring Concert Series ‘Alex Maldonado’: Pascua Yaqui flute player and award winning creator of musical instruments. He performs with his son Nick, a percussionist, and his daughter Melissa, who sings in the Yaqui language and performs traditional Yaqui dances. Tohono Chul Park. For details – Click Here.
