Photo: Flagstaff’s world-famous Lowell Observatory, founded in 1894 by Percival Lowell, maintains an active research program staffed by astronomers, as well as daytime tours and nighttime telescope viewing for visitors. Tours take you through an informative Exhibit Hall and then on to the 24-inch Clark refractor telescope used by Lowell and the historic telescope used in the discovery of planet Pluto in 1930.
