History & Heritage
Casa Malpais Ruins: This 17-acre site was occupied in the 13th century, and has been preserved to feature the Great Kiva, stairways, astronomically aligned shrines, and petroglyphs. Coronado Trail Scenic Byway: America's first federal highway, the Coronado Trail Scenic Byway is a beautiful 120 mile drive along Arizona Highway 191 between Springerville and Clifton, leading you along the eastern edge of the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest.

Little House Museum: Located 10 miles southwest of Eagar, off of State Route 260. Tel: (928) 333-2286.

Lyman Lake State Park: A few minutes from Eagar, Lyman Lake is one of the largest lakes in northeastern Arizona, and is also home to Pueblo Indian ruins and petroglyphs, dating back to the early 14th century, which can be accessed via a number of hiking trails. For Details –

Nature & Outdoor Recreation
Apache & Sitgreaves National Forests: The forests encompass two million acres located along the Mogollon Rim and in the White Mountains of east-central Arizona. On the Sitgreaves, the major attractions include 8 cold water lakes, and the 7,600 foot Mogollon Rim which extends 200 miles from Flagstaff into Western New Mexico. The Apache National Forest ranges in elevation from 3,500 feet to nearly 11,500 feet and is named for the tribes that settled in this area. Escudilla Wilderness: Located in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests, the Escudilla Wilderness features 5,200 acres atop Arizona's third highest peak, Escudilla Mountain at 10,912 feet. There is the Escudilla Trail to explore, that will lead you to the Escudilla Lookout. For Details –Click here.

Lyman Lake State Park: A few minutes from Eagar, Lyman Lake is one of the largest lakes in northeastern Arizona. This 1,200-acre park encompasses the shoreline of a 1,500-acre reservoir at an elevation of 6,000 feet. The park is also home to Pueblo Indian ruins and petroglyphs, dating back to the early 14th century, which can be accessed via a number of hiking trails.
