About
Copperopolis, CA
Calaveras County was
noted as the second producer of copper during the 1860s, by producing
over 19 million pounds of the ore. To date, the mining and workshop
sites from that era remain alongside buildings that have been restored.
Today, Copperopolis is a popular travel destination and residential
community that is home to recreational attractions including a beautiful
18-hole golf course, and Lake Tulloch, and is near Yosemite National
Park and the Stanislaus National Forest.
