‘Champagne Sundays’ – special
‘Mother’s Day Shopping & Recipes’ Radio Show
Sunday, March 30, 2008,
from 2 pm – 4 pm (PST)

Mother’s Day is celebrated on May 11, 2008.

The driving force behind Mother's Day was Anna Jarvis, who organized observances in Grafton, W.Va., and Philadelphia on May 10, 1908. As the annual celebration became popular around the country, Jarvis asked members of Congress to set aside a day to honor mothers. She finally succeeded in 1914, when Congress designated the second Sunday in May as Mother's Day. According to the US Census Bureau, there are an estimated 82.8 million mothers in the United States as of 2004.

Mother’s Day Radio Show - In honor of Mother’s Day, we recently aired a special ‘Mothers Day’ show on SouthwestBlend.com’s online radio show called ‘Champagne Sundays’. It was a fun show packed with all kinds of shopping ideas, recipes and more – all sure to bring a smile to Mom on Mother’s Day.
