Overview
The North Coast paints a tranquil scene
from rolling vineyards into forest of grandeur - all with a taint
of pastoral and wilderness character. The two main scenic routes -
Highways 1 and 101, will guide you through vineyards, river valleys,
lakes, seaside villages and Victorian-era towns and the rocky Pacific
Coast. The North Coast changes moods with the weather being foggy,
sunny, misty or rainy. The region is a haven for plants and animals
ranging from the lofty redwood trees, wild salmon, eagles, elk, whales
and sea lions. The area is a naturalists paradise.
