HERBAL REMEDIES
from
Mary Labrador, HHP
There is nothing more Spiritual than living a
life which reflects a deep respect for nature…
Men’s Aftershave
Mix 2 Tablespoons warm Apple Cider Vinegar with 2
Cups of Witch Hazel tincture. To this, add 1 ounce of Sage,
Peppermint, and/or Wintergreen. Mix the solution with about 3 ounces
of rubbing alcohol. Let your herbs steep in a sunny window for 2
weeks, strain.
Rose or Vanilla Lip Balm
This lip balm is made with 1 Cup Almond Oil, 1
ounce of Beeswax, 2 teaspoons of Honey and 1 teaspoon of rose or
vanilla extract for flavor. Mix all of the ingredients over a low
heat until well incorporated, then store in an airtight container
for use.
Sunburn Remedy
This Aloe and Lavender gel is a great way to help your skin heal
from over exposure to Ultra-Violet rays. Mix ½ Cup of 99% Pure Aloe
Vera Gel thoroughly, with 10 drops Lavender Essential Oil, 3 drops
Marjoram Essential Oil and 3 Drops Rose Geranium Oil. Sore in an
airtight container and use as needed.
A BLEND TIP*:Helping
to get rid of cellulite's 'orange peel' look.
Taking Rosemary Oil and putting a few drops on a
loofah, then gently, but firmly scrubbing the areas that need treated will do
the trick if you're patient. Steam and heat open up the skin to allow the
Rosemary Oil to be absorbed into the skin. Rosemary Oil is a natural diuretic
and will work its miracle on its own.
A Blend Tip*:
Alternatives To Soda
Fast foods like burgers and fries may be time-savers, but the fat in them
slows you down. Another diet downer that kills productivity: soda.
The sugar and caffeine give you a burst of energy--for a little while.
After that, it is downhill. The sugar buzz wears off, leaving you tired
and dragging. Meanwhile, the caffeine acts as a diuretic, leaving your body dehydrated. You get tired, you cannot think straight,
and you may develop a headache. So, skip the soda and choose water--lots of
it--instead. If you crave something a little more exciting to drink, try
mixing orange juice and fizzy water. You will get a lower dose of sugar,
a burst of vitamin C, and a lot of flavor
without the caffeine--without the nasty side effects.
