About Apache Junction, Arizona
Apache Junction is a desert community of 41,000 people, residing at an elevation of 2, 070 feet, about 35 miles east of Phoenix, in the shadow of the Superstition Mountains. Originally a mining town, the area is home to authentic ghost towns with stagecoach stations full of western history. This is all just minutes away in the maze of steep canyons, clear blue lakes, and box canyons of the saguaros where the legendary Lost Dutchman Mine is said to be.

Nearby attractions include Apache Lake which is surrounded by the Superstition Wilderness and the Three Bar Wildlife Area, and is just 25 miles northeast of Apache Junction. The lake is 17 miles long and is a terrific spot for boating, fishing, water skiing, wildlife viewing, bird watching, hiking, camping, and more.

Just 7 miles east, is the town of Gold Canyon, which boasts a rural old western feel in a metropolitan setting in the town of Gold Canyon.
